Kellen Mangan decided as a teenager that he was going into home building and completed his first new home for sale at age 22, while still a business student at St. Martin’s University. That early decisive initiative made him a natural to include in 2016 “40 Under Forty” recognition. Being clear on his career so early let Mangan work on his background by earning a real estate license so he could sell new construction homes around his college studies time. By late 2009, he had formed High Definition Homes, LLC and was off on his own, completing more than 100 new homes in the seven years since. “I am proud to live next door to my customers in the communities that I build,” Mangan said. “Being hands-on in every home and community is important to me.” His biggest challenge has been having to constantly modify his business plan due to economic volatility.
Kellen also supports Community Youth Services, YMCA and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

Less than a year ago, we decided it was time to purchase a house. After searching on the open market for a month with our realtor, we began to think that our dream house was not out there. Our realtor asked us if we wanted to build a house. We were not interested at first, as we believed that it was a complicated process. We also believed that it would be too expensive. Our realtor told us that we would be able to build a house and that he knew of a top-notch builder. Our realtor introduced us to Kellen Mangan. He was very attentive when we discussed our vision to him. He then provided us details about his company and the process of building a home. We felt very comfortable about him and the process that we were about to embark on.
From the initial contracts to the selection of the site, Kellen always made us feel as though we were always in control. As this was our first house, he always reassured us throughout the construction of the home. Kellen and his construction foreman would meet with us on the sight when decision needed to be made, thereby ensuring that we were always in the loop. As the house was nearing completion, our dream house began to become a reality. Kellen uses some of the best craftsmen and installers in the business. From granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, to state-of-the-art bathrooms and a grand fireplace, Kellen exceeded our expectations. After the house was completed, Kellen walked us through the house and showed us how everything functions. It has been 10 months since we moved in and we still cannot believe that we built our dream house from the ground up. Our dream house was a reality and it was cheaper than we expected. We are the envy of all of our friends and neighbors when we host events.
All of our guests ask us who our builder was. We always tell them that it Kellen Mangan of High Definition Homes and he will forever be a part of our family!
